National Trails Day

National Trails Day
National Trails Day is the country’s largest celebration of trails. Visitors will learn about NPS trails, hiking safety, nutrition, and well-being.
8:00 a.m. Join a park ranger and members of the Dogwood Trailblazers Walking Club to “Find Your Park” on the 3-mile boundary walk, with a 1.5-mile option available. Please wear sturdy footwear for this moderate hike, bring a water bottle, and insect repellent. (Note: This trail is not wheelchair accessible)
10:00 a.m. and 2 p.m.- Participate in a ranger led tour on the ¾-mile Carver Trail. (Note: This trail is wheelchair accessible)
11:00 a.m. - Join a park ranger for a hiking safety discussion about the essential items you may need while hiking. Learn about trail tips, trail etiquette, hiking safety, and “Leave No Trace.” Find out more about the new NPS Wellness Challenge, a Healthy Parks Healthy People initiative.
